Angels & Demons versus The DaVinci Code

For those of you who have read both, do you see similarities between the two? Are they too alike? Someone told me to read Angels & Demons before The DaVinci Code. I'm glad I did because it helped with the second book and context, but I thought the stories were similar.

I read The DaVinci Code first. I too think it would have helped to read Angels& Demons first. I thought Da Vinci Code was a little more complex. Maybe not...

I also agree with Ms. Onsrud that the two books are a bit too similar. As soon as Vittoria walked into the book on her long, lean, tan legs, I knew Langdon was going to fall for her.

I read The DaVinci Code first as well. I didn't really feel that it made much of a difference to my understanding of the story, but I also just read the book for fun and wasn't worried about understanding much besides the symbols.

I would like to read The DaVinci Code again, maybe in one of those neat illustrated editions that are out now. I think it would also be fun to plan a trip to all the places mentioned.

I definitely liked the DaVinci Code better than Angels and Demons, though. They are quite similar in style and pacing, but I just liked the ending of The DaVinci Code better.

I agree that I liked The DaVinci Code better, too. The story is more refined.
