National Library Week!

Friday's book-related trivia question: What popular book begins with these lines?

"When I wake up, the other side of the bed is cold. My fingers stretch out, seeking Prim's warmth but finding only the rough canvas cover of the mattress. She must have had bad dreams and climbed in with our mother. Of course, she did. This is the day of the reaping."

National Library Week!

Tuesday's trivia question is: What famous book begins with this line?

"Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn't hold with such nonsense."

It's National Library Week!

It's National Library Week @ your library!
To help celebrate NLW, I am going to post one trivia question each day on this blog. Answers can be found in books in the LMC, in databases that the library subscribes to or perhaps on the Internet.

The first three people who post the correct answer on this blog will receive a fabulous prize from Mrs. Bade.

You do not have to join this blog to answer the question...just click on the Post a Comment link below.

The first question is: Where is Tornado Alley and why is it called this?

A big thank you to Ms. Sobolik for creating these questions!
P.S. Great pic above, Ms. Hart! You're so cool!

Wintergirls

Only two Cafe Library Book Club discussions left for this school year! Wow, what a fast year but what a great year of reading.

April's pick is Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book had good reviews from Horn Book (starred!), Booklist (starred!), Kirkus Review (starred!), School Library Journal, Publisher's Weekly and Library Media Connection.

Take a listen to my Voki for a summary.
