April's pick is Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson. This book had good reviews from Horn Book (starred!), Booklist (starred!), Kirkus Review (starred!), School Library Journal, Publisher's Weekly and Library Media Connection.

Wow - this was a pretty intense book, but very rewarding. I really enjoyed all the references to fantasy novels and fairy tales. I also enjoyed the character development, and the way Anderson eventually gets deep into Lia's head.
